The Art of Connection
I'm Deb, and I create quilled paper art—a craft where thin strips of colored paper are hand-rolled, shaped, and carefully layered to build depth, movement, and light. What started as a exploration of color and dimension has become a practice of patience, intention, and pure joy.
My journey with art began with photography, capturing moments of quiet beauty in the natural world. But over time, I found myself drawn to something different: the tactile, meditative process of building images one careful coil at a time. There's something magical about watching flat paper transform into something that seems to breathe, to move, to invite you in closer.
Everyone Can Do This
Here's the truth I want you to know: what I do isn't hard. But it has taken years—years of practice, experimentation, and a stubborn commitment to following my own creative path rather than the crowd. And yet, I've taught three-year-olds and ninety-three-year-olds how to quill. I've watched people discover they have this capability in them, and it's one of the greatest joys of my life.
This work is not reserved for "artists." It's not elite or exclusive. It's accessible, patient, and deeply rewarding. If something here sparks your imagination or makes your heart sing, I hope you'll feel inspired to try it yourself. That's what this is really about—not just the pieces you see, but the creative spark you might discover in yourself.
More Than a Transaction
When you connect with my work, I hope it feels like we're in conversation rather than a transaction. I'm not here to demand your attention or push you toward a purchase. Instead, I'm inviting you to look, to feel, to wander through these pieces as if you've stepped into a gallery with high ceilings and plenty of breathing room. If something moves you—if it delights you or inspires you—that's what matters.
Every order I send out includes a handwritten note and little extras, because I believe you should feel like you received more than you expected, more than you paid for. But more importantly, I hope you feel that a real person made this for you, with genuine care and gratitude.
What I Hope for You
My dream isn't just to sell artwork. It's to connect with people who are curious about the creative process, who want to try something with their own hands, who might discover that they have this gift inside them. I hope my work inspires you to explore your own creativity—whether that's through quilling, painting, photography, or anything else that calls to you.
I want you to leave here absolutely sure that you can do what I do. And then, when you're ready to learn, I hope you'll come back. I'd love nothing more than to help you discover what's possible when you give yourself permission to create.
Every piece here is made by hand, with intention and love. Thank you for being here, for looking, for connecting with my work. That means everything.
